It has been over 2 months, more like 2.5 months, since I posted anything. How does that happen? New resolution - sandwiched between "run the 10K" and "do a better job keeping the house clean" - is now "write a blog post at least three times a week." We'll see how that goes.
Moving on to real estate-related matters, a group of consultants has issued a report recommending a new $147M stadium be built Downtown, to replace the Coliseum. Here is Part I of that report. The remaining two parts of the report will come later.
What do you think about the idea for a new Downtown stadium?

From Mark Brady, who experienced technical difficulties posting:
Arenas are supposed to be designed with favorable acoustics for stage performances aren't they?
I read the report. Part II nee...ds less fluff, more transparent analysis, and a serious assessment of the boundary retail and social activities/catalysts that the Convention Center and other "silver bullets" overlooked. Without that, this is another build-it-and-they-will-come pile of bricks fronted with tumbleweeds on non-event days.

Ummm....actually, I DON'T know the difference between a stadium and an arena. And it seems the Richmond Times-Dispatch doesn't either. [:)] But I am happy to hear about the difference.
